President and Chief Executive Officer
Matthew Whalen is President and Chief Executive Officer of Cord Meyer Development Company. He brings to Cord Meyer 30 years of experience in such real estate sectors as multifamily, office, industrial, hospitality and single family.
Most recently, Whalen served as Senior Vice President of Development at a major developer of rental communities, responsible for development and acquisition activity across Long Island, Westchester and Connecticut. A 1988 graduate of Princeton University, where he received a B.A. in history, Whalen looks forward to exploring development opportunities for Cord Meyer Development Company.
Anthony J. Colletti
Chief Operating Officer
Anthony J. Colletti is the Chief Operating Officer of Cord Meyer Development Company. He was hired as Controller in November 1983. Ten years later, he became Cord Meyer’s Chief Financial Officer and in 2003 he became its Chief Operating Officer.
As Chief Operating Officer, he oversees all aspects of Cord Meyer; leasing, construction, operations, finance and accounting. Colletti has worked closely with the Board of Directors for more than 35 years. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Fordham University and has been a CPA since 1980.
Kevin Schmidt, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
Kevin Schmidt is Chief Financial Officer of Cord Meyer Development Company where he oversees Cord Meyer’s finance and accounting operations, while being actively engaged in the company’s financial planning.
Schmidt, who joined Cord Meyer in 1991, is a trusted advisor to the Board of Directors. He earned a BBA from Baruch College and is a member of the New York State Society of CPA’s.
Mary K. Hughes
Vice President Leasing
The chief responsibility of Mary K. Hughes, Vice President of Cord Meyer, goes to the core of the firm’s business – leasing. It is her job to find the best possible tenants for Cord Meyer and its portfolio of commercial properties, approximately 750,000 square feet of retail and office space by using her 32+ years of experience leasing.
Hughes was honored in 2009 for her outstanding business and community leadership and was named one of the top women in business in the borough of Queens. She is the Company’s NYS Licensed Real Estate Broker and has been a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers since 2001.
Vice President Construction and Operations
John Garcia is the Vice President of Operations and Construction for Cord Meyer Development Company. He oversees all day to day operations for all properties including managing all maintenance and security personnel on staff.
Garcia has more than 25 years’ experience in the construction management field. He has been involved in building projects ranging from water treatment plants for municipal authorities to high-rise residential buildings for renowned developers. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Alfred University.
Vice President Marketing
Nora Nolan joined Cord Meyer Development in June of 2004. She currently is the Vice President of Marketing responsible for the marketing needs of the company’s new developments.
Before joining Cord Meyer, Nolan was the Director of National Meetings and Programs for a major beverage company for over 20 years, responsible for sales, marketing and incentive meetings and events.
